Any interested applicant can obtain further details from the University.
On satisfying the requirements of Part 1 of the Programme, students will automatically proceed to Part 2 of the Programme (see Study Methodology)
Master’s Programme:
This section is for those applicants who wish to pursue the Degree of Master of Management (M.Mgt). For those who wish to pursue an MBA, the programme is different and is shown below.
Applicants must, in order to satisfy Part 1 of the Master’s Programme (see Study Methodology), show their prior academic achievement by having acquired any of the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business and or Management or similar, either through Southern Eastern University or through any other University acceptable to SEU.
- A professional qualification, such as having been made a Fellow of a professional or other body or organisation.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline other than law, either through SEU or through any other University acceptable to SEU, coupled with any of the qualifications necessary for entry into Part 1 of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme.
- A formal qualification may be dispensed with at the discretion of the Faculty, for those working within the legal professions or within a legal environment, either commercial or academic, who have appropriate qualifying experience.
Evidence of attainment under 1- 3 above will be required on enrolment. Approval for entry onto the Programme under 4 above should be sought prior to submitting an Application for Registration.
On satisfying these requirements, students will automatically proceed to Part 2 (see Study Methodology).
Doctorate:
Doctorates are only awarded to mature experienced professionals seeking full career development and/or status and are only awarded by way of substantive professional experience, research and Thesis, (see Study Methodology)
The Research must be specific to a subject/topic, which is of importance in the field of law or in the legal/sociological field. It must embrace substantial primary research and substantial original secondary research and must be of ‘value’, either academically or practically within the sphere of the candidate’s professional life.
It is a condition of admittance onto the Programme that the Candidate’s work is monitored to the extent that the Candidate is required to submit a progress Report to the Association every three months.
The finished Thesis must, after initial approval, be ‘defended’ by the candidate either at a panel to be convened or by two individuals of the candidates choosing experienced in a like field. Further details of this requirement will be supplied to the candidate at the appropriate time.
Candidates must submit, along with their Application for Registration onto the Programme a full, and as detailed as possible, CV. The more information that can be given regarding the Candidates previous qualifications - academic and professional; their work experience; appointments and published works (if any), the quicker a decision regarding acceptance onto the Programme can be made. |

If you are looking for a qualification that is equal to your ambition but is not going to ‘break the bank’ – that is flexible enough to allow you to fit your studies around your work and other commitment – that will give you the knowledge the skills and the confidence to accelerate your career prospects in an ever more competative business environment, then the SEU MBA has been designed with you in mind!
The top ranking MBA Business Schools around the world enjoy the reputation of having spearheaded the revolution in business today. They predicate their curriculums as unique and as complete as possible. Companies pay thousands of pounds and dollars to send their executives to drink from their hallowed fountains of knowledge; indeed the way in which these predigious schools operate, their students not only ‘drink’ from that fountain, they also bathe and wash their clothes in it!
The ‘Top 10’ Business Schools actually refer to a group of about fifteen or so recognised schools that play musical chairs for ‘Top 10’ rating. However, those schools do not necessarily offer the best work related reputation, and ranking within the system rates higher, perhaps, than the end result. Unfortunately the world’s current financial woes and corporate escapades have not done the ‘high ranking’ MBA schools any favours! Far from bringing outstanding success we see financial ruin all around us. Former President Bush of the USA has an MBA from Harvard as does the former Treasury Secretary. The former Heads of Merrill Lynch, General Motors and Lehman Brothers all had ‘Top 10’ MBAs.
One problem, according to Stuart Crainer, business correspondent for The Times newspaper, is that whereas the MBA started its life as a general management qualification aimed at middle and senior managers, most of those from the prodigious schools go into the financial services sector as, that is ‘where the money is’. The MBA is not, traditionally designed to prepare people for this type of career.
At The Southern Eastern (SEU) Graduate Business School, we take this to heart, focusing on business skills and acumen rather than skills for the financial markets. We condense the essentials of the top schools’ curriculums, slicing through the long-winded and self-serving time-filling academic non-essentials. Our goal is to make familiar all the significant MBA tools and theories so that they are thoroughly grasped, and to help students understand and develop the MBA mind-set that will lead to its practical application in working life.
